Manager of Emergency Services

VEVRAA Federal Contractor: Priority Referrals of Protected Veterans Requested.

Purpose
To provide supervision and program management, training and professional development to all Residential Staff within Recovery House, Respite, Emergency Shelter and seasonal Overflow Shelter.

Duties and Responsibilities
Hire, train, and supervise all Residential Program Staff. Provide all necessary oversight and supervision ensuring consistency and continuity of services rendered. Coordinate with GNHCAN to accept new eligible clients; to complete regular house meetings within all Residential Programs; to network and collaborate with the Greater New Haven CAN for all new Emergency Shelter admissions and discharges, maintain strict confidentiality concerning both program applicants and accepted clients. Attend regularly scheduled supervision, team, staff or network meetings as requested; or related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred in Human Services or related field plus three years direct care experience. Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid Connecticut driver's license. Must possess superior interpersonal and management skills. Must have demonstrated the ability to manage, motivate, teach, multitask and supervise; must have a complete knowledge base of all aspects of the delivery of residential services for the homeless population; must be knowledgeable of mental health and substance abuse facilities; knowledgeable of the area network providers; needs to be computer literate and culturally competent; must possess the capacity to work within a team and foster teamwork; must have a general understanding of crisis intervention skills, confidentiality, boundaries, universal precautions; able to foster a Harm Reduction philosophy within the work environment; strong empathic skills. Must be able to work with diverse populations. English/Spanish preferred.

Salary: Negotiable based on education and experience plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility
