Manager of Middlesex Programs

VEVRAA Federal Contractor: Priority Referrals of Protected Veterans Requested

To provide supervision and program management, training and professional development to case managers working in agency shelter, supportive housing and rapid re-housing programs located in the Middlesex and Hartford region. Participate in the Middlesex and Hartford CAN and network with other regional providers.


Duties and Responsibilities
Hire, supervise, train and evaluate all program case managers and attend/share all required CHI and network meetings; complete all required reports; oversee intake, departures, foster tenant meetings and group activities; coordinate and collaborate with other agencies and Columbus House management. Attend CAN Housing and Case Collaboration meetings as needed. Assist Director of Programs in monitoring program budgets and attend budget meetings as required. Other related duties as assigned.


Individual must have demonstrated the ability to manage, motivate, and supervise; time management and organizational skills; complete knowledge base of all aspects of the delivery of case management services for the homeless; skilled in mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis issues as well as local housing options and entitlement programs; knowledgeable of the area network providers; knowledgeable of DCF policies; Master’s degree preferred with four years of experience working in a social service, mental health or substance abuse agency; valid driver's license; computer literate; able to work within a team and foster teamwork; crisis intervention skills, confidentiality, boundaries, universal precautions; able to foster a Harm Reduction and Housing First philosophy; strong empathic skills. Reliable, punctual and able to maintain client confidentiality while respecting proper relationship boundaries; willing to accept direction. Initiative in solving problems and enhancing program functions with a demonstrated ability to think creatively.

Salary: Negotiable based on education and experience plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility
