We won the 2016 Do Good Data Viz Challenge!

Columbus House won the 2016 Do Good Data Viz Challenge with our entry “Visualizing an End to Chronic Homelessness” created by Dan Shetler, Columbus House Data Scientist. Hover and click through the interactive data visualization below to learn how we are using data to help end chronic homelessness. The prize included $1000 for Columbus House as well as over $7000 in Tableau data visualization software that will help us to further leverage our data to better serve our clients.

This data visualization was specifically designed for the audience at the 2016 Do Good Data Conference. It should be viewed as an example of how Columbus House is pushing the envelope and becoming more data driven, rather than simply providing a report on the current state of homelessness. The data for this visualization will remain static; however, internally we are using data visualizations that are updated regularly to help our staff make better decisions.
