Big Sleep Out

Guilford Green b&w.jpg

Thankfully, for the close to 70 participants who attended The Big Sleep Out on April 28th, the rain held off until the morning while they slept overnight on the Guilford Green. Close to $6,000 was raised to support our work to end homelessness at this innovative event thanks to Guilford High School student Ella Stanley, her family, participants, volunteers, and event sponsors. Aimed at raising awareness and compassion for those experiencing homelessness, participants attended presentations, workshops, and activities where they earned stamps to spend on meals, hot beverages, and cardboard for sleeping on. The night ended with many of the participants sleeping out on the green to get a taste of what it is like to have nowhere to sleep. We are so grateful for Ella and all who made The Big Sleep Out a great success!
