Chief of Quality Assurance

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief of Quality Assurance participates in and supports the establishment and monitoring of the agency’s Quality Assurance and Improvement System. Assists with the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of all outcome activities including but not limited to Quality Improvement, Program Evaluation, and Risk Management. Plays key role in agency accreditation preparation, ongoing compliance efforts and recertification while fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative or management role; knowledge of Motivational Interviewing. Ability to work with improvement teams and foster teamwork; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Strong written and oral communication skills; Superior facility with Excel; Valid drivers’ license with a good driving history and daily access to an automobile.

Desired: Master’s Degree/Licensed; knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodologies; knowledge of mental health, substance abuse and homelessness; PersonCentered-Planning, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed and Gender Specific Care and Housing First philosophies and models; Experienced with CARF accreditation; experienced with HMIS database; knowledgeable of funder standards: HUD, DMHAS, DOH, BOS etc.



Participates in the identification, creation, implementation and monitoring of quality improvement processes and activities across agency programs. Coordinates the audit monitoring processes to ensure compliance with agency standards, funding sources and licensing and accrediting bodies. Acts as the key coordinator of agency accreditation efforts; reviews P & P, meets with and educates management staff regarding accreditation related responsibilities; collaborates closely with CEO and CPO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure successful maintenance of agency accreditation. Educates staff on quality improvement methodologies and processes. Assists with the development and review of general agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulators and funding sources. Leads the agency Quality Assurance Committee; collaborates with other committees in so far as their work relates to quality improvement efforts. Attends external quality related meetings as directed by supervisor. Acting as the agency Client Rights Officer; the Chief of Quality reviews client grievances, investigates all facts related to the allegations and collaborates with other management staff as necessary to resolve identified deficiencies or violations. Coordinates quarterly review of all agency incident reports, conducts a root cause analysis of critical incidents and reports to the Safety Committee as appropriate. Conducts in-service trainings; supervises departmental staff and oversees data quality. Ensures health & safety standards are met in collaboration with Facilities Department. Oversees reporting to funders. Other related duties as assigned

Salary Range: Negotiable based on education and experience plus excellent benefits.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday flexible, generally within the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
