Job Posting: Road to Recovery Driver

FLSA Non-Exempt, Per Diem: On-call availability for day and nights shifts 7 days per week needed.

VEVRAA Federal Contractor: Priority Referrals of Protected Veterans Requested


To provide motor vehicle transportation services to clients in the Basic Needs program that are going into or coming out of substance treatment programs/facilities within the state of Connecticut.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the stages of recovery, self help, mental health and substance abuse issues, and confidentiality; knowledge of DMHAS supported substance abuse facilities and

Connecticut state highway system; must be sensitive to working with people who are of various cultural backgrounds and who may be in recovery; ability to drive; schedule transports, perform light clerical duties and use a fax machine. Experience preferred. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a favorable driving record. Basic knowledge of computers required. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.



Reliably and safely transport program appropriate clients within the state of Connecticut.

Review and maintain records of referrals for Transportation program.

Take referrals, instruct referring agencies and complete paperwork for DMHAS

Transportation Program. Complete all required documentation and reporting. Participate in monthly staff meetings, group supervision, and other collaborative meetings.


Supervised by: Transportation Manager

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Positions: 2

Schedule: Per Diem only, no regular schedule, 7 days a week, day and night shift availability as needed
